Camera Acting Workshop

When an unforgiving super HD camera points at an actor, there’s no hiding and the audience can easily tell the depth of an actor’s skills. Instantly getting into a character in action is a challenging feat, as is the balancing act for many actors between screen and stage acting. To cater to the expanding film industry, the Camera Acting Workshop, conducted by FTII graduates, offers a platform that delves into the fusion of camera knowledge and acting. This serves as an ideal blend to master the art of “LESS IS MORE” and hone the craft of acting on screen.

WORKSHOP OFFERINGS

  1. Using the camera as a storytelling tool naturally and subtly.
  2. Difference between stage & screen acting.
  3. On camera emotional range and expressions.
  4. Learning the art of “less is more” and finding a natural balance.
  5. Awareness of marks and framing for continuity.
  6. Location based scene work and improvisation exercises.
  7. On camera audition techniques.
  8. Awareness of physicality in relation to cameras.
  9. Script analysis & characterisation for camera performance.
  10. Understanding shots and building stage presence.

Duration: 2 months

Days: Monday to Friday

Timings: 5 - 8pm

Fees: Rs. 30,000/- Number of seats: 15 (minimum)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Candidates should be 18 years or above
  2. Minimum educational qualification required- 10 + 2
  3. No prior experience in theatre or screen acting is necessary

HOW TO JOIN

  1. Admission is done on a first-come, first-served basis. You can either download the application form available below or collect one from the venue(Shri Ram Centre).
  2. The candidate should provide one passport size photograph, an ID and address proof document (Adhar Card/driving license/passport etc.) along with the duly filled application form.
